What is this place?
I’d like to think of this place as a compendium os sorts. As I learn about certain topics, acquire skills, and document that knowledge – I’d like to share it with others who may find it useful.
A personal greeting from me 🙂
Hello there!
I’s a pleasure to meet you, whoever you are!
Let’s leave banalities like names, age, etc. out of the equation – they don’t mean much anyway, not in any way that matters at least.
You exist, somewhere in the world, and so do I, and so does this site. That’s good enough to be getting on with!
What then, is this place you may wonder. To be honest, I am not entirely sure myself. After multiple burnouts, dealing with grief, being disenchanted with my chosen career, and ultimately questioning why on earth do we bother with so many pointless and meaningless things on a daily basis when life is so short, I turned my attention to things that felt meaningful to me.
It’s worth emphasising that those things felt meaningful to me personally, and maybe completely useless to you.
And that is one of the aspects of this site. I have no intention of catering to other people’s wishes here. This place is first and foremost for me and my exploration and interests. If you find it interesting or useful – great. If not, I am sure you will find it elsewhere on the internet.
I do not intend to sell anything, advertise anything, collect any data or “increase engagement” at any point – which means there is no newsletter, I am not reading comments, there is no shop, no sponsorships, etc.
I want to attempt to document the knowledge I am acquiring, on the topics that I find interesting, in a way that is convenient for me to access when I need it. Right now it’s a lot of sewing (especially historical kind) and cooking. And maybe organisation. But like everything else, there are times when I become immersed into one of the topics, times when I am leisurely pursuing many projects, and times when none of them interest me in the least. I am perfectly okay with that – there are seasons for everything. I do expect it to be reflected in the manner of things that I post here though, as well as frequency.
Let’s see where this journey will take us!
